Unforgiven
Unforgiven is the third book in The Forgotten series and finds Sheriff Hayden Duke facing a world that has gone from dangerous to almost impossible. Humanity is under attack from alien creatures, a brutal warlord known as King is tightening his grip, and there is still a larger threat in the background that may be tied to the collapse of everything.
What started as a mystery aboard the Pilgrim has turned into a full-scale fight for survival, and I liked how the story kept expanding without losing Hayden as the centre of it. The action comes fast, but the personal stakes still matter, especially because Hayden is constantly being pushed into choices that affect far more than just himself.

- Depends heavily on the first two books

My Recommendation
This is a strong finish for readers who have followed The Forgotten series from the beginning and want to see how Hayden’s story finally comes together. What started as a fairly contained mystery aboard a generation ship has grown into a much larger conflict involving alien threats, survival, and the future of humanity. If you enjoy fast military science fiction with post-apocalyptic elements, high stakes, and a stubborn main character who refuses to stay down, Unforgiven gives the trilogy a satisfying ending.
