My Top 3 Non-Fiction Books
My top three nonfiction books are A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking, The Gulag Archipelago by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, and Modern Slave by Gaia Cooper. They’re completely different books, but all three made me look at the world differently in some way. A Brief History of Time pulled me into huge questions about space, time, black holes, and the universe, even when some of the science made me stop and reread things. The Gulag Archipelago hit me in a completely different way because of the scale of what people lived through and how easily a system built around fear and control could destroy ordinary lives. Modern Slave was much more personal and raw, and what stayed with me was seeing how grooming, manipulation, and abuse can slowly take control of someone’s life before they even fully understand what’s happening. These are three books I finished still thinking about, just for completely different reasons.
