My Top 3 Science Fiction Books
My top three books — I Who Have Never Known Men, The Three-Body Problem, and 1Q84 — are all very different, but they hit the same part of my brain. I love books that make me feel like there’s something much bigger going on beneath the surface, where the world feels slightly off and I keep wanting answers even when I know I may not get all of them. I Who Have Never Known Men stayed with me because of the loneliness, isolation, and the way it asks huge questions about identity and what makes a life meaningful. The Three-Body Problem completely pulled me in with its massive science-fiction ideas, first contact, and the feeling that humanity had stumbled into something far beyond its understanding. And 1Q84 has that strange, dreamlike atmosphere where reality slowly shifts and you’re never completely sure what’s real anymore. I think that’s what connects all three for me — they’re thought-provoking, a little unsettling, and they leave me thinking about them long after I’m done.
