My Top 3 Contemporary Fiction Books
My top three choices for Contemporary Fiction books are: Twice by Mitch Albom, In an Instant by Suzanne Redfearn, and Asking for It by Louise O’Neill. They’re completely different stories, but all three hit hard emotionally and make you think about choices, consequences, and how quickly one moment can change everything. Twice pulled me in with the idea of being able to redo a moment and the question of whether having another chance would actually make life better. In an Instant stayed with me because of how one terrible accident exposed so much about fear, survival, guilt, and the choices people make under pressure. Asking for It was much harder to read, but that’s also why it had such an impact on me, especially in the way it deals with victim-blaming, shame, and how a whole community can turn on one person. All three are the kind of books that left me thinking about them long after I finished.
