Meet Me at World's End

Book 2 of Bunker

Post-Apocalyptic, Science Fiction, Dystopian, Young Adult

Book Score8out of 10
Plot & Storyline 8.5/10

Dialogue / Writing Style 8/10

Meet Me at World’s End is the second book in the Bunker series and follows Charlotte Hartland before the comet hits Earth. When news of the disaster breaks, Charlotte learns that her powerful grandfather has already secured her a place in the Bunker Reservation Project, giving her a chance to survive while most of the world has no such option.

The book focuses heavily on the chaos before the apocalypse rather than the aftermath, which gives it a different feel from Wake Me After the Apocalypse. Charlotte has to deal with privilege, fear, and the growing realization that the bunker program may not be as fair or organized as it appears, while her relationship with a construction worker who resents her family adds another layer of tension.

The Goods

  • Strong pre-apocalypse tension
  • Charlotte gets good character growth
  • Interesting look at the bunker program
  • Good contrast with the first book
  • The countdown to disaster keeps things moving

The Bads

  • Some pacing is uneven
  • The romance can feel predictable
  • A few side characters need more depth
  • The privilege conflict gets repetitive
  • Works best if you already know the first book

My Recommendation

This is a good follow-up for readers who enjoyed Wake Me After the Apocalypse and wanted to see more of how the bunker program actually came together before the comet hit. Charlotte’s story is very different from Joanna’s, which keeps the series from feeling repetitive, and the pre-apocalypse setting adds a lot of tension because you know exactly what is coming. If you like YA dystopian fiction with survival planning, cryosleep, class conflict, and characters trying to earn their place in a very uncertain future, Meet Me at World’s End is a solid second book in the series.
