Blind Fury

Book 2 of Under the Breaking Sky

Horror, Dystopian, Young Adult

Book Score8.5out of 10
Plot & Storyline 8.5/10
Characters 8.5/10
Dialogue / Writing Style 8/10

Blind Fury continues the Under the Breaking Sky series with the mysterious crack still appearing and turning more people into violent, blind killers. Mark is trying to decide where his loyalties really are, Tommy and John are hiding out in a safehouse, and Gina is dealing with the consequences of a decision that is starting to catch up with her.

The book expands the story by bringing more immune people into the picture and making the larger mystery feel even more important. There is still plenty of action and danger, but the different character storylines give it more depth and make the world feel like it is getting bigger rather than simply repeating the first book.

The Goods

  • The mystery keeps getting bigger
  • Multiple storylines add variety
  • The blind infected are still a great threat
  • Good mix of action and character drama
  • Moves the series forward well

The Bads

  • Some storylines are stronger than others
  • A few characters can be frustrating
  • Still not many answers about the crack
  • The constant danger can feel repetitive
  • Works best if you read the first book

My Recommendation

This is a strong second book for readers who enjoyed Blind Rage and want the larger mystery to start opening up. Blind Fury keeps the strange infected threat front and centre while giving more attention to the immune survivors and the different choices each character is making. If you like post-apocalyptic stories with multiple viewpoints, mystery, and constant pressure, this is where the series starts to feel much bigger.
