Will It Hurt
Will It Hurt? follows Aisla, a chaotic witch, and Jinn, a grieving vampire who needs her help with a dangerous spell. The two do not exactly get along at first, but they are forced into working together, and the tension between them quickly turns into something much more complicated.
The book mixes sapphic romance, witches, vampires, grief, magic, and a lot of sexual tension. Aisla and Jinn have strong chemistry, and the enemies-to-lovers setup gives the story plenty of energy while the darker supernatural side keeps it from feeling like a simple romance.
The Goods
- Strong sapphic chemistry
- Good enemies-to-lovers tension
- Fun witch and vampire pairing
- Emotional grief storyline
- Fast, steamy pacing
The Bads
- Very romance-heavy
- Some fantasy details could be deeper
- The spice may be too much for some readers
- A few emotional turns happen quickly
- The plot is fairly simple
My Recommendation
This is a great fit for readers who like sapphic romantasy, lesbian vampire stories, witches, and enemies-to-lovers relationships with plenty of heat. Aisla and Jinn’s chemistry is really the main attraction, but the grief and magic give the story enough emotional weight to keep it from feeling shallow. If you enjoy LGBTQ+ fantasy romance that is steamy, dramatic, and built around two women who absolutely should not work together but somehow do, Will It Hurt? is a very fun read.
