Inheritance
Inheritance is set in the small Ontario town of Walkerton, where the discovery of a teenager’s badly mangled body sends everyone into panic. Police insist it was just a wildlife attack, but Mike Shenton and his friends quickly realize the adults in town are hiding something much bigger, and whatever happened in the woods may be connected to an old secret that was never really buried.
The book mixes small-town horror, mystery, and supernatural elements, with a lot of tension coming from the feeling that everyone knows more than they are saying. The forest setting works really well, and the deeper Mike gets into the truth, the more the story starts to feel like something the whole town has been afraid of for years.

My Recommendation
This is a good choice for readers who like small-town horror, supernatural mysteries, and stories where the adults clearly know more than they are willing to admit. The Ontario setting gives it a nice grounded feel, while the hidden history and growing danger in the woods keep the story moving. If you enjoy books about old secrets, suspicious townspeople, and something dangerous waking up after years of silence, Inheritance is a strong horror read.
