Everything Leads to You
Everything Leads to You follows Emi, a young production designer in Los Angeles who is obsessed with movies and finally getting the chance to build the kind of life she wants. When she and her best friend discover a mysterious letter connected to a famous actor, the search for answers leads Emi to Ava and into a story that becomes much more personal than she expected.
The book is warm, thoughtful, and very focused on both creative ambition and first love. Emi and Ava’s relationship develops naturally, and the film-world setting gives the story a lot of personality. It is less about huge drama and more about identity, family, friendship, and figuring out what kind of future actually feels right.
The Goods
- Sweet lesbian romance
- Great film-industry setting
- Emi is a very likable lead
- Strong friendship dynamics
- Warm, character-driven story
The Bads
- The mystery is fairly light
- Some parts move slowly
- A few side characters could use more depth
- Not much high-stakes conflict
- The romance is very gentle
My Recommendation
This is a really good choice for readers who like lesbian YA romance, creative characters, and softer coming-of-age stories with a strong emotional core. Emi and Ava’s relationship feels natural, and the movie-production setting gives the book a fun backdrop without taking over the story. If you enjoy LGBTQ+ fiction about first love, friendship, family, and finding your place in the world, Everything Leads to You is a very easy book to connect with.
