Earth Unending
Earth Unending is the third book in the Forgotten Earth series and follows Sheriff Duke as he crosses an increasingly dangerous wasteland while trying to stop a threat that could wipe out far more than just the people closest to him. By this point, the creatures, killers, and ruined landscape are only part of the problem, because there is also a much larger weapon and conspiracy hanging over everything.
The book keeps the survival side moving quickly while pushing the series closer to its final conflict. Duke is under constant pressure, and the story has a strong sense that time is running out, which makes this one feel more urgent than the earlier books.
The Goods
- Strong sense of urgency
- Good post-apocalyptic atmosphere
- Duke remains a solid lead
- The larger threat keeps expanding
- Moves the series toward the finale
The Bads
- Depends heavily on the earlier books
- Some action feels repetitive
- A few side characters get limited attention
- The story rarely slows down
- Some plot developments happen very quickly
My Recommendation
This is a strong entry for readers already invested in the Forgotten Earth series and wanting the danger to keep getting bigger. Earth Unending mixes wasteland survival with military science fiction and a much larger threat hanging over the planet, so it feels like the point where everything is starting to come together. If you like fast post-apocalyptic stories with hostile landscapes, dangerous creatures, and a main character racing against time to stop something much worse, this one sets up the finale really well.
