Destruction

Book 4 of Forgotten Colony

Science Fiction

Book Score8.5out of 10
Plot & Storyline 8.5/10
Characters 8.5/10
Dialogue / Writing Style 8/10

Destruction is the fourth book in the Forgotten Colony series and finds Caleb facing a much bigger problem than he expected. Deliverance is not alone, the conflict around the colony is expanding, and the enemy he thought he understood turns out to be only part of what is really happening.

The book keeps the military sci-fi action moving while making the larger war feel more complicated and dangerous. Caleb is pushed into another survival situation where he has to prove himself under pressure, and the story does a good job of making it feel like the colony is caught in something far larger than anyone originally realized.

The Goods

  • Strong military sci-fi action
  • The larger conflict expands well
  • Caleb remains a solid lead
  • Good sense of danger
  • Moves the series toward the finale

The Bads

  • Depends heavily on the earlier books
  • Some plot developments happen quickly
  • A few side characters get limited attention
  • The action can feel relentless
  • Not much time for quieter moments

My Recommendation

This is a strong entry for readers already invested in the Forgotten Colony series and wanting the story to open up into a much larger conflict. Destruction makes the situation around Deliverance feel more dangerous and more complicated, while Caleb is once again pushed into the middle of everything. If you enjoy military science fiction with alien threats, colony survival, shifting enemies, and a series that keeps increasing the scale, this one sets up the final book very well.
