THE UNSHAPED

MILA DURAN

The Unshaped focuses on Nicole who struggles to cope with the fact that her dad was a famous psycho killer. She wants to move on with her life. Then, new murders start occurring that follow her father’s M.O. Nicole gets sucked into the same nightmare, but it’s different this time. Instead of being terrified, she’s determined to take control of her own story. It’s a wild, scary ride with emotional stakes and a love story at the heart of it (also, an LGBTQI relation love story). Be warned that the crime scenes are pretty dark.

The Goods
– It’s suspenseful and keeps you turning pages.
– The mystery has a strong hook and stays engaging.
– Nicole and Vega are a compelling pair, and the LGBTQI representation feels meaningful.
– There’s real emotional weight, not just plot and action.

The Bads
– A few sections slow down when the investigation plans are explained in detail.
– The villain can feel almost too far ahead at times.
– The story is dark and the crime elements can be intense.
– If you prefer minimal relationship drama, some scenes may feel distracting.

I’d recommend The Unshaped because it grabs you fast and keeps you reading. The mystery is creepy and intense, the danger keeps getting bigger, and you actually care about the main characters especially Nicole and Vega, who have a strong connection that adds real emotion to all the suspense. It’s dark, but if you like crime books that feel like a nonstop chase with big stakes, this one’s a really good pick.

Every book hits differently for every reader.
Thanks for reading my review.
